After a year of planning and engaging our community, we have officially launched the Resilient Danvers Climate Action, Sustainability, Preservation and Resiliency (CASPR) Plan!

As the impacts of climate change threaten our infrastructure and way of life, we have created a plan to create a thriving, resilient community: Resilient Danvers. This initiative is the foundation for partnership and dialogue between municipal staff and community members to identify solutions to the short- and long-term impacts of climate change. This Climate Action, Sustainability, Preservation and Resiliency (CASPR) Plan is the first outcome of our collective efforts.
What’s included in the CASPR Plan?
The CASPR Plan includes actions, backed by technical assessments and community input, to help reduce our contribution to climate change and create a more sustainable and healthy future for everyone. Through this plan, we are committing to a Danvers that offers “something for everyone” – clean, connected energy and transportation systems, affordable and livable neighborhoods, and a diverse and sustainable economy. Through a robust technical analysis, we developed a ‘pathway’ for reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, the primary pollutant contributing to climate change, and we created blueprints for how we can get this done in Danvers.
Where do we go from here?
Creating this plan is just the first step on our pathway to a sustainable future. Real success will come with implementing actions and meeting our goals. Our goals were carefully defined through this planning process with input from community members, Town leaders, and regional experts. We will be tracking metrics associated with our goals to see how we’re making progress.
We want to be transparent with the community on how we’re doing, so use the Resilient Danvers dashboard to:
- Check out our progress in each focus area.
- Explore the Action Table to view all of the actions in the CASPR Plan.
- Sign up to receive occasional progress updates.
We can’t do it without YOU!
While the Town has developed this plan and will play a big role in developing resources, tools, and policies to support climate solutions, implementing the CASPR Plan will take everyone making changes in their own life – to save energy, drive less, reduce waste, and more. Every action you take will help drive progress toward making Danvers safer, healthier, and more sustainable. Visit the Be Part of the Solution page to get started!
